Customer Reviews for Annapolis Pulmonary Asthma

My son sees Dr. Yu for asthma. Dr. Yu is pleasant, professional and I believe through. I like her approach to minimize medications as much as possible.
My son became sick and his asthma became uncontrollable 3 days before Christmas 2011. I called for sick appointment and help. I was told that out of 6 pulmonologists, exactly 0 were available to see us for the next 3 days due to hospital rounds and vacations. The nurse tried to convince me that my son was coughing due to post nasal drip instead of asthma. After she consulted a doctor, she told me to take my son to his pediatrician if we still believed his asthma was out of control. His pediatrician got us in right away and immediately diagnosed his asthma being out of control and told us we did the right thing by getting him to her ASAP because he was in bad shape.
So we ask ourselves what is the sense of going to a pulmonologist who is in a practice with at least 5 other doctors who you can't get an emergency/sick appointment to see or speak to one for at least 2.5 - 3 days when you absolutely need one? Our answer is there is no reason what so ever to continue to use specialists who do not believe it is important to schedule vacations while still providing coverage for their patients who need access to them. After all, what good is the specialist if you can't access them when you really need them.
We'll find another doctor with hopefully, a more professional caring practice.
